You Gave, What Happens Next?
THANK YOU for giving “the United Way” and this is what happens next. Since you gave, volunteers have been busy at work ensuring accountability for your investment. Thank you to each of the volunteers who gave of their time and energy for this most important task. We appreciate each nonprofit that applied for a United Way grant, and we thank you for informing and teaching our volunteers about the important work you do in our community.
Looking back since 2005, the United Way of Moore County has collected and invested over $3.5 million back into the community. In Moore County, there are hundreds of people participating in United Way supported programs. Those programs include the emergency services provided by the American Red Cross when a family loses everything in a fire. Crisis support for the woman who needs a safe haven with Friend to Friend as she escapes from an abusive situation. United Way is there supporting early childhood education with the day-to-day work of the staff at the Northern Moore Family Resource Center’s Hope Academy. We’re supporting youth education enhancement programs with mentoring programs at Communities In Schools. We’re encouraging healthy habits for our community with the upcoming Born Learning Trail in our partnership with MooreHealth. For a complete list of programs supported by United Way, click on Our Partners under the Getting To Know Us tab.
Remember to just call 2-1-1 for information and referrals. Though this is some of what happens with your investment, there is much more. We will continue to support our community, the children, families and individuals who benefit most from your generosity. Thank you for caring and thank you for helping support your local United Way of Moore County…caring for friends, families and neighbors who live among us.
